DAY 1 (WEDNESDAY) Tashkent – Khiva (B)
You will be met at the airport after your overnight flight and transferred to a local hotel for breakfast. You then enjoy an introductory city tour of Tashkent including the State Museum of Applied Arts of Uzbekistan, the Dzhuma-mosque of Khodja Akhrar Vali, Kukeldash Madrassah (XVI), Abdulkasim Madrassah (XIX) and the religious complex of Khasti Imam, consisting of Kaffal Shashi Mausoleum (XV century), Barak Khan Madrassah (XVI century) and Muy-Mubarak Mosque – the storehouse of the well-known Koran of Khalif Osman and the golden hair of the Prophet Muhammad. You may also have time to do some shopping at the Chorsu bazaar. Late afternoon you transfer to the local airport for your onward flight to Urgench. Upon arrival, you transfer to Khiva (30 km, 20 min)

DAY 2 Khiva (B)
After breakfast you start your city tour of Khiva including the UNESCO-designated site of its walled inner town, known as the Ichan-Kala architectural complex (XII-XIX). You visit the Residence of the last Khiva Khan at the Ismail Khodja Mausoleum, the Muhammed Amin Khan Madrassah, the Kunya-Ark Fortress (XVI-XVI), Kalta Minor Tower, Tash-Hovli Palace (XIX), Pahlavan Mahmud Mausoleum (XIV-XVIII), Juma Mosque (X) and other Khiva tourist sights. Walk the narrow streets, past carved “ayvans” veranda and doors, majestic minarets and mausoleums, heritage and arts –all kept with care in this city as a great treasure. Overnight Khiva.

DAY 3 Khiva – Bukhara (B) (490km – 8-9 hours)
In times past the journey from Khiva to Bukhara lasted more than a month. Today it takes one day by vehicle, through the mysterious red desert “Kyzyl-Kum” and the territory of “Khorezm”, which was called in the past a “State of 1,100 Cities”. What kind of secrets are buried in this desert, this is something that archeologists and historians will be trying to find in the future. Meanwhile, you are invited to view the exotic landscapes of desert with roaming camels, nomadic yurts and the old Amudarya River (Oxus). Arrival in Bukhara and check in to the hotel.

DAY 4 Bukhara (B)
After breakfast you start your city tour of Bukhara including the Ismael Samani Mausoleum - the tomb of representatives of the Samanid dynasty at the end of IX – beginning of X century. You visit the nearby Chashma Ayub Mausoleum (Spring of Job – XIV), and on to the Bolo-Hauz Mosque (beginning of XX) and the Citadel Ark (IV) – the renowned 5th century fortress, You then visit the Po i Kalyan Complex (Pedestal of the Great), the religious heart of Bukhara, that surrounds the Minaret Kalyan (XII),and comprises Kalyan Mosque (XII) and Mir i Arab Madrassah (XVI). You also visit Ulugbek’s Madrassah (1417), Magoki-Attori Mosque (dated XII-XVI centuries), Char-Minar (four minarets) and the Lyabi-Khauz Complex (dated XIV-XVII centuries) around one of the city's land-remaining ponds.
You have the rest of the day at leisure to rest or explore further sights such as the Dome Bazaars (dated 15-16 century): Toki Saraffon (the Dome of Moneychangers), Toki-Telpak Furushon (the Dome of Cap makers), Toki Zargaron (the Dome of Jewellers) and Tim Abdullakhan (the Centre of silk). In the evening you enjoy a local show in Nodir Devon Begi Madrassah.

DAY 5 Bukhara - Samarkand (B) (370km 5 hours)
Today involves a drive across the desert to Samarkand. You check in to your hotel before an introductory tour taking in Tamerlane's Tomb (XIV-XV), and famous sites around Registan Square including Madrassah Ulugbek (XV), Madrassah Shir-Dor (XVII), Madrassah Tillya-Kori (XVII).

DAY 6 Samarkand – Tashkent (B)
The science and art of the ancient East have been concentrated in Samarkand since the olden days. Multinational and tolerant – it is said here that: “there are many stairs leading to the sky” and there is no difference in which language you pray.
Your city tour of Samarkand includes a visit to the East Siab Bazaar, Bibi Khanum Mosque (XIV-XV), the Shakh-i-Zinda Ensemble (dated XI-XV century) and Ulugbek Observatory (XV). After a busy tour you transfer in the late afternoon to the railway station for the evening train to Tashkent.
